In November 2019, Pacifica passed an electrification policy prevents gas appliances in most new buildings. Exceptions were made for emergency services, residential kitchens, and gas cooking as well as fireplaces in new residential buildings – leaving people in those industries and places exposed to the dangers of gas. We hope that they will revisit and strengthen the policy in the future, but recognize this is still a strong policy that will make their community and the world safer.
