In October 2021, the City Council in Antioch directed staff to craft an ordinance that would ban oil and gas drilling within city limits. Antioch is the second largest city in Contra Costa County, and passage of this ordinance would add momentum to a push for the Board of Supervisors to enact a countywide drilling ban.
