In 2025, Ashland passed the Carbon Pollution Impact Fee to to disincentivize building new homes and rebuilds with gas appliances. This policy which encourages all-electric appliances is the first of several recommendations from youth advocates and the city’s Climate and Environmental Policy Committee. Going forward, we hope that all the Climate and Clean Air Package recommendations become policies.
