In 2016, 350PDX, Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility, Audubon Society of Portland, the Center for Sustainable Economy, Columbia Riverkeeper, and countless grassroots activists fought for and successfully passed a bill banning the expansion of existing fossil fuel terminals. Also included in this bill was a provision limiting new terminals in the city to 2 million gallons or less.
Portland took action to stop expansion of fossil fuel storage in 2016.
