President Biden: It’s time to stop dirty fossil fuel projects

On August 21, Indigenous Water Protectors and allies gathered in D.C. with a clear message for President Biden: he must stop Line 3 and all new fossil fuel projects.

We weren’t alone. With us in solidarity were 127,736 individuals and 79 organizations who have demanded the following of President Biden:

The SAFE Cities movement to stop new fossil fuel projects and begin a just transition to a clean energy world is clearly not slowing down any time soon – what we’re accomplishing together is incredible.

Already more than 100 cities and other local governments across the U.S. and Canada have passed policies to stop fossil fuel expansion, build renewable energy infrastructure, and create good, long-term jobs.

What happened that August weekend is just one example of how people all across the country (and the globe) are taking action to reclaim our communities and the world from the fossil fuel industry.

The challenges posed by the climate crisis and fossil fuels may seem daunting – but the climate movement has never been more powerful, and transformative change is within our reach. Together, we’ll turn the tide against the fossil fuel industry and create a better world.
